MISSION

The Cyber & Information Advantage Battalion (CIAB) provides training to build agile and adaptive Signal and Cyber leaders across the National Guard.

To offer premier Information Technology and Cyber Training our Signal and Cyber Soldiers and civilians.

COMMAND PHILOSOPHY

We must sustain an environment that enables our team to accomplish the mission while caring for our personnel and families. We will maintain the highest quality of stewardship of government resources, seek continual improvement, and communicate effectively with our customers and higher headquarters.

This approach is based on three core ideas:

  • To operate, within the commander's intent, a shared understanding of the operating environment and seize upon emerging opportunities to enable supported units' success
  • To seek continued improvement in our facilities, equipment, and ourselves as professionals while taking care of our families and each other
  • To develop and deliver training with the end state of enhancing supported units' readiness mind and state JFHQs' deliberate approach to improve readiness in all we do

Course Title: MANAGEMENT CLIENT (MGC)
This three-week course provides instruction in Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) architecture, Management Client (MGC), workstation hardware, and related systems. It includes instruction in safeguarding and accounting for COMSEC materials; establishing, moving, and closing KMI Operating Accounts (KOAs); threat and security awareness programs; COMSEC emergency procedures; COMSEC logistics; and other duties required of KMI Operating Account Managers (KOAMs) and inspectors. Students will learn to account for and manage COMSEC material; order, generate, and distribute traditional and modern keys; conduct inventories, destroy keys, and perform other accounting procedures; and prepare and submit reports within the KMI hierarchy.

Course Title: ARNG SECURITY MANAGER
This instruction is designed for individuals assigned as Security Managers for National Guard state organizations, commands, industry specialists, and other DoD security personnel. During this two-week course, students receive training in key principles and duties, such as processing a background investigation requests, using personnel security systems, controlling security access, requests for action, and reportable information. In addition, the material covers the marking, protection, transmission, and destruction of classified items; handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI); and processing security incidents and specifications for contracts.
